EFT is based on a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues.Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary.
Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips.
The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says... "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." And because our physical pains and diseases are so obviously connected with our emotions the following statement has also proven to be true... EFT is the latest tool that I have been trained with and it has been a great experience. Let me tell you that I have been a heavy smoker for nearly 30 years. When I decided to stop smoking, I used EFT to help the process. I set up a date to stop about 3 or 4 weeks before the stopping date and started tapping and slowing down with cigarettes. The evening before the big day, I went to the garden for a ritual. I smoked my “last”cigarette in front of my Buddha and when I have been done with it, I buried it in front of it. The morning after, I woke up and have never had a cigarette since then. I was tapping a few times a day and doing my daily meditations and that's all. I consider myself as an abstinent smoker more than as a non smoker. A close friend of mine is a AA and he stopped smoking as well. He told me that a drinker or a smoker is never a non drinker or a non smoker.
We are abstinent and there for we have to be careful and conscious of the potential risk of starting again. It is really hard to know what has been successful in the process. I can say I have been successful and for the rest, I just know that a few of my clients came to stop smoking and that most of them did stop so far. Not all of them did succeed because the ingredient number one in stopping smoking is to really want to quit smoking, meaning they make this DECISION.
I was ready as all of my clients who really wanted and were ready to quit. It is not enough to have a wish. It has to be a decision without a doubt in your mind. EFT since I have been confirmed as a Practitioner has become a daily practise. For at least 20 years I wake up at 5.15am to take time for my day and myself. Before I leave the house I do tap for a few minutes. EFT has became part of my daily routine like meditation and shower. I have been noticing great number of positive changes.
The level of stress and fear in my life dropped dramatically. Because the tapping is releasing blocked pathways, the energy flow in my body is much more harmonious. I have been accustomed to work on myself as a Psychotherapist for many many years but it is pretty impressive to notice these changes deep in me without my mind really involved (for once).
EFT is working and since I started tapping, I am more relaxed, more settled and at peace within. EFT definitely has an action on relieving tensions and the morning routine changed a lot in my life. My clients of course are happy to try this technique and I am overall very impressed with the positive effects the use of EFT has had on their lives.
As far as I am concerned, EFT is a great tool to help people working on their issues and emotions, especially when they have tried almost everything else already. EFT does not need your agreement or conscious power to be efficient. It gently brings you to a place where you can be yourself and assume control again.
As a Therapist, I do use all my tools but EFT has proved to be a very gentle and efficient one that I use on its own or in conjunction with the other tools at my disposal, depending on what the client requires on an agreed basis.
